Alana Johnson is an experienced instructional leader with 18 years in education. She has been a member of the Summit Academy learning community since 2008 where she’s contributed as an English teacher, instructional coach, and LEA leader. Her work centers on building systems that develop educator capacity and confidence while also translating instructional goals into real classroom impact. Ms. Johnson has led efforts in personalized, job-embedded professional learning and cultivated teacher-leaders to shape school culture while enabling them to directly impact students in their classrooms. 

Ms. Johnson believes caring, confident, and supported educators are the most powerful drivers of student success in our schools. Coupled with involved and supportive parents, Summit Academy has set the stage for high-quality and meaningful learning.

 An opportunity to teach in North Africa sparked her passion for learning and led to her work in Utah education. Since that time, Ms. Johnson has earned an M.Ed. from Southern Utah University and a B.A. from Westminster College. When not at school or enjoying all the natural beauty Utah has to offer, you can find her knitting and trying to keep up on the latest books and television shows. She and her family, including a Summit Academy student, live and work in the surrounding community.
