We are excited to announce that Summit Academy has partnered with the Utah Registered Apprenticeship Program for Teachers (U-RAPT)! This innovative program offers a unique pathway to a fulfilling career in education, blending on-the-job learning with a supportive mentorship model and related instruction.      Program benefits include:

    • Paid employment: Both pre-apprentices and apprentices will receive progressively increasing wages with competency demonstration. 
    • Mentorship: Pre-apprentices and apprentices will work with high-quality educators in a public-school setting.
    • Paid college tuition: Financial assistance is available for all related instruction costs.
    • Professional licensure: Apprentice program completers will earn a professional educator license in any teaching area: elementary, secondary, or special education.


Apprentice

Pre-Apprenticeship: Ideal for those exploring a career in education with no formal post-secondary education.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications:

  1. A pre-apprentice must be at least 18 years old. 
  2. A pre-apprentice must have a high school diploma or GED. 
  3. A pre-apprentice shall have a cleared background check and must enroll in FBI Rapback as set forth in Section R277-301-10.

Teaching Applicants must meet USOE and NCLB requirements, having earned as a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in elementary or secondary education from an accredited college or university with appropriate endorsements in the content area.  Applicants accepted in the ARL program will also be considered.
