One of our favorite traditions at the Bluffdale campus is the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration on November 1 & 2 which embraces the Mexican tradition of honoring loved ones who have passed, in a festive, fun way that helps people remember the deceased and celebrate their memory. Students and families participate by bringing photos or mementos of their loved ones to be displayed on the Ofrenda (altar) for all to see.
Congratulations to our 23-24 Football team for having a wonderful season and many standout games and player recognitions. Summit made it to the state finals and unfortunately lost to the state champions.
Students from our German DLI program participate in Christkindlmarkt every year with performances and parades. Christkindlmarkt is inspired by the world-famous German Christmas markets and provides a unique holiday shopping and cultural experience. The markets offer amazing food, festive holiday entertainment, and wooden vendor booths nestled amid the magical backdrop of This Is The Place Heritage Park. Through this festival our German DLI students experience a magical German celebration of Christmas.
e food service team is excited to announce a change in the menu. We are discontinuing many of the breakfast items on Fridays. We will be having Friday Favorites. Meaning that the menu items that get high numbers for meals that are not to complex or difficult will be made on Fridays. We will be keeping possible 1 or 2 breakfast meals a month.
The salads are going to be changing their allocated day in January. The Sticky Chicken Salad will be moving to Wednesdays and the Asian salad will be on Fridays.
We are going to celebrate a special meal themed day in January. Mario Day!!!! We will be having Italian chicken parmesan and Mario/Luigi cake. It will be a fun day to try new foods and celebrate love for all the years of Mario games and the movie.
Lunch MenuPenny Wars is a fundraiser where Summit students raise money to support families who need a little extra support over Winter Break. At the same time, the money donated counts as a vote toward a school wide activity in December! This year pennies count as points toward a fun assembly, a day where they wear cozy clothes to school and have a read a thon, or an Advisory period where they get their choice of fun activity!
The Student Council at Summit Academy Junior High Draper has been working on ornaments for a Christmas tree! This tree is part of a community service project, donated to the Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees supports the children at Primary Children's Hospital. Student Council had a fun time contributing to this great cause!
