Principal’s Message - January 20, 2026

Dear Summit Academy Families,

Thank you for helping spread the word about our Open House last week! Your support continues to make a big difference. As we look ahead, we would love you to help share the news about our German Dual Language Immersion Information Night on January 28th at 5:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for families to explore our incredible German DLI program.

We would also love your help judging the writing contest entries. The majority of judging can be completed off campus, so this is a nice opportunity for those who want to help without being at the school. See the judges link in the writing contest section below.

Honor Roll Breakfast – Tomorrow

  • Congratulations to our Jr. High Honor Roll students!
  • We’re excited to celebrate your hard work and achievements.
  • Breakfast will be served tomorrow morning.

Fly-Up Day – Thursday

  • Students will visit the grade they will enter next year.
  • Students will get a fun preview of activities, teachers, and what to expect.

Final Spelling Bee (Grades 2–3) – Friday, January 23 at 8:20 a.m.

  • Final round of the spelling bee for grades 2–3.
  • Families are welcome to attend.
  • Best of luck to our amazing spellers!


Writing Contest: Final Submissions Due January 26

Our writing contest is coming to a close; all entries must be submitted by January 26.

  • Theme: "A Day to Remember."
  • Students received flyers last week; information is also available online.
  • Now is the perfect time to finalize and turn in student writing pieces.
  • Three winners per grade will be announced at Literacy Night on February 9th.

Enrollment & Program Updates - 2026–2027 School Year Lottery

  • The lottery ran today for new student enrollment.
  • Returning families must complete the Intent to Return form to secure a spot for next year.

German Dual Language Immersion (1st & 2nd Grade Openings)

  • We still have seats available in next year’s German DLI program.

SHREK Performances – February 5th - 7th

  • Our theater department is hard at work preparing for their production of Shrek!
  • Mark your calendars. These performances are always a highlight.
Summit Academy Spirit Night with the Utah Grizzlies – Saturday, January 31 at 7:10 p.m.
  • Discounted tickets available through the Summit Academy Schools link.
  • Families are invited to stay after the game for a photo on the ice.

2026-2027 Current Student Intent to Return Registration

Summit Academy families, it’s time to complete your student’s Intent to Return for the upcoming school year. This is your child’s official registration for 2026–2027 and must be submitted by December 19th through your Parent Aspire account- https://summit.usoe-dcs.org 


  • Siblings for Consideration (This includes incoming Kindergarten): If you have children who are not currently enrolled at Summit Academy Schools but you would like them considered for enrollment, please complete an application for them in our lottery here: https://www.summitacademyschools.org/main/enroll-now 
    • Lottery Dates: The first lottery run will take place on January 20th, and the second on February 21st.
  • Campus Transfers (Grades K–8):  Families interested in transferring to another Summit Academy campus (Draper or Bluffdale) should submit a request here: Click her to Request a Campus Transfer 
  • Please note: Transfer applications are open until January 9th

  • Current 8th grade students interested in attending the SAHS Campus next school year.  You will need to login under your parent SIS Aspire account to complete this process. If you are unsure what your username or password are, contact the office for assistance. Please follow the steps below.
    1. Log into your parent account in Aspire:  https://summit.usoe-dcs.org
      1. Select the Registration tab.
      2. Select the year 2026-2027 & select "Start".
      3. Verify that all enrollment information is correct. Submit each page and complete the required forms. All forms at the end of the registration will show as green if done correctly.,
  • Not Returning: If your student will not be returning to Summit Academy for the 2026–2027 school year, please let us know by completing the form here: NOT Returning to Summit Form

Community Connection

Many of our families rely on 14600 South for daily school travel, and we want to inform you that long-anticipated construction to repair the bridge is finally beginning. As part of this project, the road under the bridge will be closed starting November 17th. To help the community stay informed, a public meeting will be held at Hidden Valley Middle School on Thursday, November 13th, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Lunch Information

  • Breakfast is $1.50 for all students and begins at 7:30 a.m.

  • Lunch is $2.65 for Elementary and $2.90 for Jr. High students 

The monthly cost is available in the bottom right-hand corner of the menus.  You may pay in person with cash or check in the office or online using this link Lunch Payment Link 

*Please note that once your student reaches -$30.00, they will receive a sack lunch that contains a PB&J, fruit, veggies and a milk.
