Cub Update

Principal’s Message - May 27, 2025

Good Evening,

Before we get into the business of our last week, I want to take a second to thank all of you for the incredible support and help that you have provided and continue to provide to our school, your students, and our staff. We couldn't do what we do without your help and support. Thank you so very much!

Now, onto our last reminders of the school year.

  • Seventh gets free dress tomorrow, Wednesday the 28th, for winning the last pep rally. Then the ENTIRE school has free dress on Thursday and Friday! Great job students on helping make our school a place kids want to be.
  • There will be no shuttle this Thursday or Friday, May 29 and 30th. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
  • Thursday is full of activities. The 8th graders will be going to Lagoon. The 7th graders will be going to Boondocks. The elementary will be having field day outside. Make sure your students have anything they need to be prepared for these activities (sunscreen for example). Also, the 8th graders can save their ticket stubs to get a Rebound Ticket. There was an email sent out regarding this.
  • School dismisses at 11:00 on our last day, May 30th.
  • The Dance Festival on Friday begins at 8:45 a.m. and will conclude around 9:30 a.m. Students may be excused to leave with parents at that time or be dismissed at 11:00 a.m.
  • We will have two FOOD TRUCKS at our Dance Festival—donuts and Kona Ice.
  • The lost and found is overflowing, and all items will be donated on Friday, May 30th. Please have your children check before school is out, or even come in yourself to see if there is anything that belongs to your family. We would love to have as much of it claimed as possible before we donate the items.
  • Please check your student’s account and pay any outstanding lunch balances or school fees. Jr High students must have fees paid before they receive their yearbook on Friday.

We are looking for volunteers for the coming year! Please let us know which events you would like to help with as part of our SPO for the 2025-26 school year: https://forms.gle/v65NiKt3UsgtuFjm6.

If you are interested in hosting a German Intern from Sep-Oct of 2025, please fill out the following link:  https://forms.gle/Vs7zTkudXH4t9LGb9.

Summer Lunch Programs are available to our students. You can also text “Food” to or call 304-304 or call 1-800-453-Food (3663) to find a site near you. Site information is updated weekly. Individual summer meal sites have the most up-to-date information on meal service.

If you need a head start with some food items for summer from our principal’s pantry, please contact Mrs. Hansen in the office.

SUMMIT ACADEMY IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR A BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER. Here is the link for an application for anyone interested:  https://vahara-04-public.s3.amazonaws.com/media/44604/SummitAcademyBoardMemberApplication.pdf.

Thank you again for a wonderful 2024-2025 school year! We wish all our students and families a safe and happy summer.

Principal messages will be sent out periodically during the summer, especially as we plan for our Fall Festival. Our goal this year is to have the entire carnival planned by the first day of school! We will also continue to update our Cub Update.

With Much Gratitude,

   Mrs. Cutler

Community Connection

Information regarding girls' soccer open gym at SAHS:

To better accommodate everyone, I’m adjusting the day and time of open gyms. I was able to get most parents’ contact information from the elementary students last time and have set up a Remind app to communicate the schedule change. If you could help spread the word by including this update in your email or another form of communication, I’d really appreciate it.

This will start on March 25th.

Apologies for the change, and thank you for your support.
