Dear Summit Academy Families,
As we head into Fall Break, I want to take a moment to share some exciting news and a few important reminders.
First, a huge thank you to our amazing SPO for organizing a fantastic Fall Festival for our students and families. We hope all that came out, enjoyed the festivities, and spent time with our wonderful Summit Academy community.
We are also excited to announce that our fundraising goal was reached! Thank you for your support in helping us meet this goal. The SPO has a lot of fun activities and celebrations planned for our students.
Looking ahead, next week is Fall Break. Please note the following schedule:
This gives students and families an extended Fall Break. We hope you enjoy the extra time together and have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable break.
Our fall sports season is also coming to a close. Congratulations to all of our student-athletes who participated in fall sports this year. Your hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship have made us proud.
As we transition into winter sports, Girls Basketball Open-Gym will be held on Monday and Tuesday, October12th & 13th. Meet in the gym dressed and ready to play. Tryouts will be held Tuesday, October 20 and Wednesday, October 21st. Students planning to try out should come prepared with shoes and athletic clothes. We look forward to an exciting season ahead.
Finally, as families begin planning for Halloween, please remember that any costumes worn to school must be school appropriate. Students' faces must remain visible at all times. Full masks and full-face makeup are not permitted, and students may not bring any look-alike weapons to school, including toy guns, knives, swords, or similar items.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping make Summit Academy such a unique and wonderful place to learn, grow, and belong. We appreciate our families and all you do to support our students and school community.

Our Fall Fundraser is off to an AWESOME start!! We love working together with you all to make our school community great. In the past, we have consistently seen amazing participation from our students and parents. Your support really makes a huge difference!

We will celebrate our success at our Fall Festival on
Friday, October 9th 4:30-7:00 on the JH Field.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Throughout the month, we encourage all students to help create a school community where everyone feels safe, included, and respected. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference!
To show that we stand together against bullying, students are invited to wear orange on Friday, October 23. Orange is the color that represents kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Please note: This is not a free dress day. Students who choose to participate must still follow the school dress code.

Junior High elective class fees will be posted to student Aspire accounts by Friday, Sept 18th. Please login to your Aspire account to view your student's fees. Payments may be made online by clicking here
We will be conducting our annual Vision Screening Test. It will be held on November 12th for grades K -3rd, 5th & 7th beginning at 8:30. If your student wears glasses, please be sure to send them with your student for testing. If you would like to opt your student out, please click here and scroll to Vision Screening for the OPT out form. It is due back to either office by Nov. 2nd.
Our Junior High Art students’ tiny artworks are on display at the Salt Lake County Sandy Library Tiny Art Show & Contest throughout the month of October! Please stop by, enjoy the amazing little masterpieces, and vote for your favorite piece! 🖼️
Whether they win or not, our students did a fabulous job creating these tiny compositions. I am so proud of their creativity and hard work! Way to go, artists! 🎨👏

I’ll be sharing student artwork and projects throughout the year on our Art webpage, which is included in the link below. I encourage you to visit it with your children and ask them about what they are learning. Those conversations at home can make such a meaningful difference and help make art a part of your family’s everyday life.
