Pick Up / Drop Off

Dear Summit Academy Parents and Guardians,

We want to make you aware of some important changes to our morning drop‑off procedures that will begin on Monday, February 9, 2026

Over the past several weeks, we have seen a noticeable increase in “near misses,” cars traveling in the wrong direction, and students exiting vehicles on the left side into moving traffic. We understand that the morning and afternoon traffic patterns differ and that this can create confusion. However, it is important to note that the morning pattern is distinctly different from the afternoon pattern, and in some areas, it even flows in the opposite direction.

To improve safety for our students, staff, and families, we are simplifying the morning drop‑off routes so that it is no longer possible to travel the wrong direction. Morning procedures will now include:

Separate Traffic Patterns for Each School

• Elementary School: A one‑way loop always flowing North with a single entry point and different a single exit point.
• Junior High: A loop system using the same point for both entry and exit.

There will be no crossover allowed between the Elementary and Junior High loops. Vehicles will no longer be permitted to drive between schools using the area beside the gym.

To Help Ensure a Safe and Efficient Drop‑Off, Please:

• Please, Please, Please Pull as far forward as possible before stopping so that others can come in behind you.
• Allow children to exit only on the right side of the vehicle. (Left‑side exits place students directly into flowing traffic.)
• Remain in your vehicle—do not get out during drop‑off.
• Have backpacks, lunches, and materials ready to go before arriving on campus to prevent delays.

A diagram showing the updated traffic flow, designated drop‑off areas, parking zones, and “no stopping/no parking” areas is attached. Please review it carefully before Monday.

Please note that afternoon pickup procedures will remain unchanged.
