October 26-30
This Week
Good luck to our cross country athletes competing at the state meet this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment. Cross country athletes must qualify to compete at state, and our team earned that opportunity through their hard work and dedication.
We would also like to recognize our soccer and volleyball teams who are also in playoffs. We are proud of all of our student-athletes in cross country, soccer, and volleyball. Beyond the results on the scoreboard, these students worked hard at coming together as a team.
HOSA Leadership Conference is tomorrow, October 7.
The Wizard of Oz auditions are underway and continue through Friday, October 9. Students in grades 6-8 are invited to audition. Audition packets are available in the Performing Arts room, or families may contact julie.fox@summitacademyschools.org for more information.
Join us for the Shakespeare Showcase for parents on Wednesday, October 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the Independence Auxiliary Gym.
Girls Basketball Tryouts will be held October 7-8 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Girls in grades 6-8 are encouraged to try out. Attendance is required both days. If special arrangements are needed, please contact Mr. Bjazevich before tryouts begin. His email is tyson.bjazevich@summitacademyschools.org. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a basketball if they have one.

Join us in the ribbon cutting ceremony on October 30 of the new pedestrian bridge at Cinch Way that will connect to the Jordan River Parkway and provide a safe crossing over the railroad tracks. We will have the ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. followed immediately by a costume parade across the bridge. With it being the day before Halloween, we are hoping kids will be in costume for school parties and can come over after school is out. Will you please share the information with your parents? Attached is a graphic/invitation you can share.
