Independence
I was raised in southern Utah, spending summers in Zion and Bryce Canyon. I graduated from BYU, then worked as a department secretary in the Moral Studies Department. I taught Fiber Arts and Design at BYU. After our family relocated to Gilbert, Arizona I taught 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English at Highland High School. I trained to be a doula, helping to deliver babies. I have taught 7th and 8th Grade English, Speech and Debate, and Creative Writing at Summit Academy since the Junior High opened on this campus. I have nine children and several honorary children who have shared our home. I also have sixteen grandchildren. I have done humanitarian work in Mozambique and participated in wilderness survival in Arizona. I love traveling, reading, writing, sewing, weaving, baking, hiking, and spending time with family.
