Dear SAHS Families,
At Summit Academy High School, we are committed to helping students develop not only academically but also as positive members of our school community. Through our school-wide PBIS program, students are learning what it means to be a BEAR: Befriend Others, Exceed Expectations, Academically Engage, Respect Themselves and Others, and See the Positive. Throughout the year, students participate in advisory lessons that reinforce these values and provide opportunities to discuss how they can apply them in their daily interactions, classrooms, and personal lives. By focusing on these principles, we are creating a culture where students feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
To recognize students who consistently demonstrate BEAR behaviors, faculty and staff award PAWS Cards when they observe students living these values. Whether it's helping a classmate, showing respect, staying engaged in learning, or maintaining a positive attitude, students have many opportunities to earn recognition. Each week, PAWS Cards are entered into a drawing, and selected winners receive $10-$15 gift cards as a reward for choosing to "Do School the BEAR Way." This program not only celebrates positive behavior but also encourages all students to contribute to a welcoming, respectful, and successful school environment. Parents and guardians, please encourage your students to set goals and earn PAWS cards.
We are already excited for Homecoming Week NEXT week! The week will be filled with fun activities including dress up days, Powder Puff, Homecoming Football Game, the dance and more! Purchase Homecoming Tickets in the Main Office or using this link: Homecoming Tickets Link
This week, contractors will begin applying the rubber surface to our new track. To ensure the project is completed correctly and on schedule, the track must remain completely closed for the next 2 weeks. We ask the community members and children to stay off the track and surrounding work areas during this time.
Even light use can introduce dirt, debris or damage that will delay completion and affect the quality of the finished surface. Please help spread the word so we can keep the area clean and clear while this work is underway.
Thank you so much for your continued patience and flexibility as we navigate our ongoing campus construction. We know the temporary detours and changes to traffic flow require extra time and effort during drop-off and pickup. Please be mindful of designated RESERVED parking spaces around the campus. Your cooperation helps keep our community safe.
