I graduated from the University of Utah in 2004 with an Elementary Education BS and a Level 2 Math Endorsement.  I’ve been teaching 19 years and I’ve taught in grades 4-8. This is my 18th year at Summit Academy.  In 2015 I also earned my Reading Endorsement.  I love to learn so anytime an opportunity comes up to take classes I’m always in.  My goal is to pass this love of knowledge on to my students. I absolutely love math, but I didn’t always, so I’m most passionate about teaching math and helping students understand that it’s easier than they think.  I’ve attended many science conferences over the years, especially as I’ve changed grades and had to learn to teach new concepts.  I love bringing all the fun things I learn back to my class.  Personally I enjoy reading, quilting, drawing, 4-wheeling and hanging out with my two small dogs, Bella and Charlie.  My students always ask about my pups because I’m always telling them about their wonderful antics, they are an endless source of entertainment.  I love to cook and bake, there is just something wonderful about finding a recipe and making it my own.
