Join us for our Spanish Dual Language Immersion Parent Information Night tomorrow, January 14 from 5:30–6:30 PM. This informative night is designed for parents of incoming 1st graders and native Spanish speakers (nursing babies welcome), this session will offer insight into how the program works and why bilingual education can be such a powerful benefit for students. If you’ve been wondering whether DLI is the right fit for your family, this is a great opportunity to learn more about this exciting program.
January is Internet Safety Month at Summit Academy. Starting next week, teachers will lead lessons covering important topics such as navigating an online community safely, understanding digital footprints, recognizing and preventing cyberbullying, evaluating online sources, and balancing media use. Our goal is to help students become wise, responsible, and safe digital citizens when using the internet. We encourage you to ask your child about what they are learning about internet safety, it’s a great way to spark meaningful dinner-time conversations at home.
Save the Date for STEM Night! Join us on January 29 from 5:30–7:00 PM for one of our favorite family events at Summit Academy Bluffdale. Get ready for big smiles, lots of laughter, and hands‑on fun as families explore exciting STEM activities together. This year, we’re bringing back some all‑time favorites—yes, that means exploding Coke in the atrium all evening long! We’re also thrilled to introduce a brand‑new “Be an Astronaut” experience, hosted by the Planetarium, along with many more engaging adventures. Best of all, this event is free for families, so come join the fun, you won’t want to miss it!
Reading together at home is one of the best ways to support your child’s learning. At Summit Academy, it is an expectation that all students read for at least 20 minutes each night. Research shows that children who read regularly with an adult are two to three times more likely to read at grade level, and just 20 minutes of shared reading a day can make a big difference in vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence. Snuggling up with a good book not only grows strong readers, it creates special moments your child will remember.
Thank you for helping make Summit Academy such a special place. We truly are Bison Strong!
