Kaci Mitterling

4th Grade Teacher

My name is Kaci Mitterling, and I am proud to be a Summit Academy Bluffdale Bison! I am from Lewisburg, PA, but grew up in Riverton, UT. I received my bachelor’s degree in education from Utah Valley University and am certified to teach K-6 elementary education. I have experience teaching in 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. This will be my seventh-year teaching and my sixth year with Summit Academy.

Just like the bison, I think it is important to never give up and to protect those around me. As an educator, I want to make sure that students feel safe, valued, and seen. I truly believe if they feel this way, they will be more open to learning and growing socially and academically. Every child is different, and I strive to support their individual needs.

Personally, I love to read. One of my goals in life is to own a library, which means I must own at least 1,000 books. I’m usually a homebody, but I do love to travel and experience the world. My favorite places that I’ve visited so far are  Ireland and Italy.  I have a cat and dog that I am absolutely obsessed with. Their names are Indie and Navy. I come from a big, fun family and am a “twin-let”, which is a made-up word for being an identical twin in a set of triplets.

I look forward to working together to support your child’s growth and making this school year a happy, positive one. Thank you for sharing your child with me.
