My journey with Summit Academy began eight years ago, when my daughter started 1st grade at Summit.  As parents we were looking for the right fit for our daughter.  She was academically advanced and her private kindergarten teacher mentioned that our regular district school would be a very boring and frustrating experience for her even in the ALPS program that she was tested and accepted into.  We looked at all the charter schools in the area and I knew that Summit was our best option.  I trusted my intuition and she started at Bluffdale the first year it opened!  After being in a corporate job and working long hours, I was looking for more work-life balance.  After speaking with the principal at that time, she said, “have you ever considered working at a school?”  I was honest and said no, it never even crossed my mind, lol.  To cut a long story short, I began as a 1st grade para that year.  It has been a very rewarding experience.  I love watching kids grow and learn and being able to assist them in that process.  I have now worked with K-4 grades and have enjoyed each of them.  In my spare time, I like to travel the world, spend time in nature, hike, run and spend quality time with my family and two dogs.
