Guten Tag. My name is Bernhard Steigenberger. I am the new 6th grade German DLI teacher. I was born and raised in Nuremberg, Bavaria, in southern Germany. But I have lived and taught English and Social Studies at a comprehensive school in Emden, northern Germany, for the last ten years. I am so excited to be here at Summit Academy Independence now.

My favourite sport is soccer, of course. I am a huge fan of 1.FC Nuremberg. I also like almost every other sport there is. Golf for its mental aspect, pool billard for its precision, hockey for its physical competitiveness. I play the guitar and mostly listen to good old Rock’n’Roll. But I also enjoy reading Fantasy-Fiction, Science-Fiction and dystopian novels.

Being able to teach here at Summit Academy Independent School in Bluffdale, Utah is such a great opportunity. I am looking forward to gaining a lot of experience, meet interesting new people and learn so much myself.
